It was about time to create a space that we could relate to and call our home—an image of our identity—where art and retail blend seamlessly to create a truly immersive experience. Hand-built by two visionary visual artists, including the surrealist artist Rui Oliveira, this “cavern” is a tribute to the origins of human expression.

From the moment you step inside, you are transported to an environment reminiscent of the very first human dwellings—caves. The entire interior is designed to evoke this primal setting, where the earliest artistic expressions took form. The centerpiece of the store is the breathtakingly detailed stonework, meticulously hand-carved by a team of artistic sculptors. These stones symbolize the essence of human creativity, taking us back to the roots of artistic evolution.

Raw, Unfiltered Aesthetic

Nothing about The Art Cavern is conventional. The space embraces an intentionally raw, unfinished look—every detail has been crafted to reflect authenticity. Iron rods protrude from the walls, serving as unique clothing hangers. The showcase maintains a deliberately minimal and industrial feel, reinforcing the concept of simplicity and raw materiality. Even the brick counter, left exposed and unpolished, contributes to the store and atelier’s ethos: an appreciation for the natural, the unrefined, and the fundamental elements of design.
